So in the aftermath of what many including myself was hoping would be a brilliant match between Leinster & Munster lays the crumbled, battered and I think it go without saying humiliated wreck of the Munster team.
Setanta rugby anchor Daire O’Brien opened the show yesterday with the quote “Yesterday the country voted on Lisbon, today it’s all about internal Politics” and well after all the votes were counted it was resounding majority victory for Leinster who right now are without question rightfully standing on top of the pile as the leading lights of Irish rugby.
I could go on now and list the endless faults in the Munster game plan and the moments of brilliance shown by Leinster in theirs on the way to their 30-0 drumming of Munster but for those people that know me well many of whom I would have socialised with in Kiely’s of Donnybrook when I lived for many a year’s within a stone’s throw of the Leinster ground, you will know how hard it is for me to say the following but also how meant it is.
And therefore in closing this week all I’m going to do is tip my hat at every single one of the Leinster team and their fans alike and say that it was a great win by what clearly are a much improved team and deserving holders of the Heineken cup.
Well done one and all….

Think there maybe a changing of the guard by Munster. The repair work needs to be done in the forwards. We still love them but maybe too many battles fought by key players.

I couldn’t agree with you more Pat there are some significant areas that Munster are lacking in and need to sure up if they are going to maintain that there European No1 ranking and I think the injection of some more fresh blood could be just that solution.

I could not agree more altho it pains me to say so. O’Gara needs to extract his finger , but I never thought i would live to see the day a Munster scrum was humiliated twice by the same opposition . The aggression of the Leinster players would seem to be the result of years of being ridiculed by us Munster fans. I have to say humble pie doesn’t sit very well in my stomach this am.

Miles I couldn’t agree with you more regards O’Gara and I think my good friend Pat may have hit the nail on the head with his previous comment that it’s time for some of the old guard to move aside and allow the young blood shine because O’Gara in particular has been shocking for the last two games and I would not be surprised to see him start on the bench Saturday…. and I have to also admit that humble pie is getting very hard to take alright but they deserved the win and every bit of praise since…

It was excrutiatingly painful viewing. Leinster yet again did their homework on us and we failed miserably to cope with the pressure. Its far from a doomsday scenario, as there is enough talent and experience in the playing & coaching squads to turn things around.
Lets talk again next monday when the boys will have had a chance to redeem themselves.

I couldn’t agree with you more Colm in that it’s far from doomsday scenario for Munster but i’m a little concerned about the opening game of this year’s Heineken Cup campaign, Northampton kept Wasps honest at the weekend only losing by 5 points and have been a very in form side so far this season and i wonder if Munster will be chasing a bounce back victory a little too much on the day… but as you say let’s talk again on Monday when hopefully the jobs been done and in the mean time get 100% behind the boys in the build up…
